Everyone who suffered an injury of some kind has gone down the rehab road once or numerous times to regain some function that was lost or altered. I’ll call us the rehab roadies!
I remember clearly going to rehab in Plano, Texas, for many weeks trying to regain some function in my left arm and hand after “graduating” from Center for Neuro Skills. I went twice a week for several weeks.
When I was checking out one day, I was told that I owed $450. What?! I told the girl at the desk that I had insurance for rehab services. She politely told me that the insurance for rehab is capped at $1,500.
The reality is that the insurance company really doesn’t care that I haven’t regained any function from my injury. I paid the $450 I owed and never returned. That left me with no options that insurance would pay for.
Fortunately, I looked elsewhere. Through a friend, I learned about Orthokinetics at Telos Fitness Center. Everett Aarberg is the man I see twice a week to administer soft tissue therapy and muscle activation techniques to improve my range of motion. I also work out with Tyler Lindenmeyer at Telos three times per week for one hour to increase my strength and improve my range of motion.
I have been a client there now for one and a half years, and I have seen a lot of progression during this time. Telos is the kind of place that cares about your injury and wants to help you achieve your goals. So rehab roadies, all is not lost! You just have to look outside the box.
